8. What is the difference between auto focus and adjustable focus?
The term "auto" focus is more of a marketing term. One is led to believe that there is an automatic mechanism that adjusts the camera's focus. However, this is not the case. All "auto" focus cameras are actually fixed focus cameras. What this means is that the focal range is fixed and the depth of field is set to cover a certain area, i.e. a single tooth to various numbers of teeth on a typical fixed focus camera. Most of the intraoral cameras in the market come with an adjustable focus.
9. Is it possible to print the captured images?
Yes, when DiaCam captures the image, it will save it as an image file in .JPG format. That means you can print to a good quality color inkjet or color laser printer.
10. What kind of power source is needed to operate DiaCam?
Thanks to the USB technologies on DiaCam. NO separate power supply is needed. DiaCam is powered by your notebook or desktop computer through the USB.2 Cable.
11. How do you clean the hand-piece?
Please disconnect the camera from the USB port and detach the USB cable from the hand-piece before any cleaning procedures. Do not immerse the hand-piece in fluids. Do not spray any cleaning solutions directly on the hand-piece.
To clean the hand-piece housing, use a soft, clean, and lint-free cloth dampened with non-corrosive disinfectant solution. To clean the camera image sensor, use pressurized air to rid of any debris.
12 . What are the advantages of using DiaCam and why should I buy DiaCam?
First of all, DiaCam is designed to be very user friendly and it is easy to operate for first time users. The CMOS image sensor and technologies provide extreme reliability and long sensor life. This guarantees that the image quality will not degrade, but will continue to provide stable and high-quality images for years to come.
The purpose of intraoral cameras is to allow patients to see the specific area that needs treatment so that they are more likely to understand and be receptive to your treatment recommendation . Therefore, DiaCam can provide you with a better and faster workflow, an improved patient education, and it is also an excellent marketing tool for your successful practice.
13. After completing the installation process, the image is still fuzzy and pixelated. Is there something wrong with the camera?
DiaCam is a 1.2 megapixel intraoral camera and has the ability to produce sharp images. Some doctors encountered the above problem not because of DiaCam itself, but because of the graphics card on the computer.
First possibility : DiaCam needs a good performance graphics card on the computer to view the best possible quality images. The graphics card’s memory has to be higher than 64MB.
Second possibility : you do have a good performance graphics card, but still only sees pixelated and fuzzy images. This is because the proper graphic card’s driver has not been installed on your computer. The proper graphics card’s driver is given to you when you purchased the computer. If you cannot find your graphics card's driver CD, you can download it from the graphics card manufacturer's website.
